Prior to Instagram's 2016 redesign, I wanted to imagine what a more minimal take on the photo sharing app might look like. Using Sketch and Principle, I built a quick prototype of "Minstagram."

My main goal was to showcase the photography. To do this, I designed an interface that could completely show or hide with a single tap, I removed comments from the timeline, and I opted for a paginated scrolling style that would hopefully encourage the user to take more time to appreciate every image.

If you enjoyed this experiment, please take a moment to follow some of the photographers who inspired the design and are featured within: Eric Ward, Tanner Wendell Stewart, Daniel Lewis, Kosten, and Michael Salisbury.
